First Week/Best Week

We have had a great fist week.  Thank you to all our clients who have visited all ready!  The New Year is approaching and we just wanted to remind you of some very basic needs for your pets.

1.  Annual wellness visits and keeping your pet's vaccinations current are vital to their well being.  You may not think vaccinations are doing anything, but they are priming your pet's immune system to fight diseases that may otherwise be fatal.  Annual visits to the veterinarian can catch diseases at an early stage and make the prognosis more favorable.

2.  Parasite Prevention is key to staying healthy.  Even if you don't see worms in your pets stool it doesn't mean they aren't there.  If your pet goes outside or is around other pets, it is at risk for parasites.  Intestinal parasites, (roundworms, hookworms, whipworms, and tapeworms) and external parasites, (fleas and ticks) can make your pets ill.  They can also be fatal in sick or debilitated pets.  Once monthly heartworm prevention will also treat intestinal parasites.  There are even heartworm preventions that will control flea infestations and well as treat intestinal parasites.

3. Talk to you Veterinarian.  We can provide answers to your questions and point you in the right direction.  We can also determine if changes in behavior or attitude are signs of disease.  You know your pet best, so just listen to them.
